Donna Demoret, 96, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at Liberty Village in Princeton, Illinois. Donna was born on December 30, 1929, to John & Ruth (Schrock) Taylor, in Dodge City, Kansas.

She lived a long life marked by determination, resilience, and independence. On May 7, 1948, she married Howard Demoret, with whom she shared many years of life and family.

For many years, Donna worked as a beautician from her home in Mendota, where she became acquainted with many members of the community. She enjoyed staying active throughout her life and especially loved exercise and line dancing.

Donna is survived by her grandchildren, Timothy (Penny) Volkert, Kelly Gomez and Kimberly (Dan) Truckenbrod; her son-in-law, Russell Volkert; sister, Rowena Pike; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Demoret; her parents; her daughter, Sherry Volkert; her great-granddaughter, Lauren Volkert; her brother, Wayne Taylor; and an infant brother who passed away at birth.

Donna's life spanned nearly a century, witnessing remarkable changes and leaving behind generations of family who carry forward the memories of time spent with her.

There will be no local services. Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, Kansas.
