Dorothy H. Cole, 92, of Mendota died July 10, 2017 in the Mendota Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Thursday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Kent Terry officiating. Burial will take place in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday in the funeral home.

Dorothy was born October 9, 1924 in Mendota to Ralph and Hazel (Reisinger) Richard. She married Edward Cole on November 22, 1941 in Palmyra MO.

She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Mendota and later attended the First United Methodist Church. She was employed by Hart-Carter in Mendota and was President of the UAW Union at the plant.

She is survived by four sons, Edward (Mary Beth) Cole, Donald (Martha) Cole, Steven (Julie) Cole and David (Dunreeth) Cole; four daughters, Juanita (Ken) Pfarr, Marta Cole, Deborah (Dale) Hagemann and Mary Ellen (Joe) Young; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband on January 30, 2003, a daughter, Sylvia, two sons, Jeffrey and John, one great-grandchild, and one sister.
