Dorothy Duke, 86, of Mendota died March 6, 2012, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Saturday in the funeral home. She was born May 10, 1925, in Taylorville to Ted and Ethel Mae (McCormick) Kerley. She married Delmar Duke on Dec. 21, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She is survived by one son, Richard (Cherie) Duke of Mendota; two daughters, Janet Clark and Joyce (John) Bentley, both of Mendota; one daughter-in-law, Becky Duke of Mendota; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Merle Davis of Benton. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007; one son, Robert in 2005; one brother, Wendel Kerley; and one sister, Hazel Rogers. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services.
