Obituary
Dorothy G. Long, 96, of Mendota died Nov. 25, 2016 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Nov. 29 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Dorothy was born May 6, 1920 to James and Mary (Fox) Marksburg. She married William Long on Nov. 12, 1941 at Holy Cross Church. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Lisa (Dror) Melamed of Sedalia, Mo. and William Garrett Long of Woodridge, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Doug; one daughter, Ann in infancy; and one sister, JoAnn Wilhelm.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Cross Church and a 1938 graduate of Mendota High School. She was employed by Mendota Drugstore as a clerk for a number of years.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's.
