Dorothy Zolper Pierro, 89, of 742 Gooding St., La Salle died May 10, 2008, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Dykstra officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Tuesday in the funeral home. She was born Aug. 13, 1918, in Hodgenville, Ky., to William and Mary (Brewer) French. She married Roland ?Bud? Zolper on July 7, 1938. He died in 1998. She married John Pierro on Aug. 9, 1999, in Ottawa. He died in 2007. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She worked as a waitress for the Highway Cafe, Sam?s Steak House and was a home caregiver. She is survived by three stepdaughters, Joyce Lentz of New Mexico, Angie Bell of Alaska and Cathi (Bruce) Nelson of La Salle; four stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or the donor?s choice.
