Dorothy Zinke, 89, of Sublette, died peacefully April 6, 2011, in Mendota Lutheran Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sublette. The Rev. Max Lasrado will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9:45 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church. Mrs. Zinke was born Feb. 28, 1922, in Sublette to Fred and Helen (Kuebel) Dinges. She married Alton "Hap" Zinke on Dec. 16, 1939, in Sublette. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Anne's Society. She was a former member of Shady Oaks Golf Club. She loved to bowl and to garden and was involved in several card clubs. Survivors are four sons, James Zinke of Dixon, Richard (Mary) Zinke and Gary (Janet) Zinke, both of Mendota, and David (Mary Jo) Zinke of Sublette; 10 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Pete Dinges of Mendota; and one sister, Marian Hochstatter of Mendota. She was preceded by her husband in 1995, and one brother Clarence. Memorials may be directed to Masses or Kreider's Center in Dixon. Pallbearers will be Brian, Chad, Garrett, Brett and Ryan Zinke and Craig Pohl. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Schuhler, Carrie Finley, Dicia Brandt, and Amy Jo Kane.
