Douglas Harold Shaver, 70, of Amboy, IL passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 1st 2026 at his home. He was born in Mendota, IL to Glenn and Irene (Bonucchi) Shaver on August 15,1955. He was employed by Maplehurst Farms (Rochelle. IL) doing what he loved; driving a semi. He is survived by his son Chad (Jen) Johnson of Utica, IL, daughters. Gina(Ed) Johnson of Earlville, IL and Laura Harmon of Amboy, IL; 7 grandchildren, Trisha, Steven. Christopher, Sarah, Sean, Tiffany and Kyle; 8 great grandchildren Bentley, Noah, Paislee, Kara, Max, Evalynn, Kinslee, and Ryker; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Irene Shaver, his wife and love of his life Sheryle Shaver and his brother Dennis Shaver.

Cremation care has been provided by the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota. A graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M.
