Edith L. Schmidt, 89, of
Mendota died Nov. 14, 2012,
in Methodist Hospital, Peoria.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Monday in the First United
Methodist Church, Mendota
with the Rev. Michael Morrell
officiating. Burial will be at
Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be one hour
prior to services Monday at
the church. Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota provided the
arrangements.
She was born Oct. 10,
1923, in Cissna Park to Levi
and Mabel (Sebring) Vogel.
She married Oliver "Cod"
Schmidt on Jan. 1, 1944, in
Cissna Park.
She was a member of First
United Methodist Church,
the Women's Society of
Christian Services, Mendota
Women's Club and Mendota
Elks Club.
She is survived by two
sons, Thomas (Barb) Schmidt
and Marcus (Jane) Schmidt;
one grandson, Dwight Brandt;
one great-grandson, Alex
Brandt; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her husband on Feb. 2,
2000; three brothers, Richard,
Bernard and Glen Vogel; and
one sister, Doris Jacob.

Church.
