Edna Mae Witte, 92, of Mendota died Dec. 19, 2007, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion United Methodist Church in Mendota with the Rev. Gale Brandner officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. today in Merritt Funeral Home. Mrs. Witte was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Mendota to Lyman and May (Geyer) Simpson. She married Walter Witte on April 8, 1939, in Peru. She was a 50-year member of Zion United Methodist Church, True Blue class at the church and United Methodist Women. She was a social volunteer at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mendota. She is survived by one daughter, Deb (David) Martin of Mendota; one son, Ralph Witte of Mendota; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and one brother. Memorials may be directed to Zion United Methodist Church, Horizon House or Special Olympics.
