Eileen M. Biers, 79, of Mendota died Aug. 10, 2013,
in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating.
Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Meriden Township
to George and Ella (Bryan) Wood. She married George
Harrison Phillips. She married Daniel Biers on May 1,
1970, in Mendota.
She graduated from Mendota High School in 1952.
She was a member of New Covenant Church in
Mendota.
She was employed by National Tea Grocery in
Mendota, Mendota Community Hospital for nine years,
Heritage Manor Nursing Home and Mendota Lutheran
Home before her retirement.
Survivors are her husband, Daniel of Mendota;
two sons, Randy (Judy) Phillips and Terry (Tanya)
Phillips, both of Mendota; one daughter, Sandy Coss
of Mendota; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
one brother, Dennis (Sharon) Wood of Mendota;
and two sisters, Wilma Tate of Marseilles and Esther
Bentley of Mendota.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan.
24, 1970.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial
to be established later.
