Elaine F. Lemmer, 78, of Mendota died Dec. 29, 2011, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. The Rev. Dale Peterson will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. She was born May 3, 1933, in Amboy to Fred and Lillian (Leffelman) Becker. She married Delmar Lemmer on Aug. 12, 1952, in Dixon. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at Mendota Community Hospital and drove Meals on Wheels. Survivors are two sons, Daniel (Helen) Lemmer and Steven Lemmer of Mendota; four daughters, Mary Lemmer of Standard, Lori (David) Miller of Cherokee Village, Ark., Teresa (Philip) Ostewig of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Peggy (Rodney) Danielson of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Darlene (Wayne) Vietz of Mendota. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; and two brothers, Richard Becker and Delmar "Bud" Becker. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Community Hospital or Mendota Food Pantry.
