Eldon Ray Molln was born June 10, 1957 in Mendota, Illinois to Elwood and Ruth (Kerchner) Molln. He passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2023.
Services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Ohio, Illinois with Rev. Jeff Whalen and Rev. Lori Whalen officiating. Burial will follow at Van Orin Repose Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
He is survived by his wife Jackie of Ohio, Illinois; sons Ryan (Christy) Molln of Walnut Scott Molln Of Tiskilwa and daughter Renae (Barrett) Galloway of LaMoille. He is also survived by his mother Ruth Molln of Walnut Illinois, his sisters Linda Purvis (Kerwin Paris) of LaMoille, Doris (John) Helm of St Charles MO and brother Arlen (Gaye) Molln of Rockford, Illinois. He was a very proud grandpa to Troy and Pierce Molln and Louis Galloway. He is also is survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Elwood Molln in 2004 and his granddaughters Lilly and Lucy Galloway in 2022.
Eldon attended LaMoille schools and graduated in 1975. There he met his and married his high school sweetheart, Jackie (Benavidez) in May of 1977. Eldon was a proud and lifelong farmer of the LaMoille/Ohio area. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ohio Illinois where he served on several different council positions. He was an avid bowler and member of the Hall of Fame in Princeton, Illinois. He served for several years as a trustee for the LaMoille Fire and Ambulance Departments.
He enjoyed going fishing and watching the Chicago Bears play. He also went on several long Harley trips with his wife. Eldon never had an unkind word to say to anyone. He was a friend to all and would help anyone in need. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a quiet and kind soul that left us too soon and will be missed by many friends and family.
