Eleanor M. Trembly, 88, of Mendota died April 4, 2011, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Dykstra officiating. Burial will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born April 15, 1922, in Arlington to Frank and Nancy (Carlson) Hitchen. She married Floyd Trembly on Oct. 6, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from LaMoille High School and was a member of First Presbytherian Church. She was employed by Mendota Community Hospital and later, Mendota Lutheran Home, in their housekeeping departments. She is survived by three daughters, Myra (Craig) Bauer of LaMoille, Trudy (Bruce) Becker of Arlington and Patty Billhorn of LaMoille; one son, Gary (Diane) Trembly of Crystal Lake; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 24, 1995; one infant daughter, Nancy, and one brother, Robert. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services.
