Elizabeth (Godawa) Lindel, 46, of Mendota died Nov. 12, 2007, in Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota, with Deacon Vincent Slomian officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born March 10, 1961, in Chicago to Robert and Roseann (Carrella) Godawa. She was a 1979 graduate of Maine South High School, Park Ridge, and worked in the assessor?s office of both McHenry and Boone counties. She had fought a 26-year battle with Crohn?s disease prior to her death. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Edward) Dawson of Elgin; one son, William (Amber) Lindel of Capron; two grandchildren; her parents Robert and Roseann Godawa of Mendota; three brothers, Michael (Barbara) Godawa of Palatine, David Godawa of Elk Grove Village and Brian Godawa of Elk Grove Village; one sister, Mary Margaret Godawa of Algonquin; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Memorials may be directed to Crohn?s Disease Foundation.
