Ella Bayne (Shannon) Mahar, 92, of Mendota passed away May 31, 2022 in her home.

Ella was born October 28, 1929 in Welland, Il. to James and Anita (Warren) Shannon. When she was 19 she married Donald Mahar. Together they had three boys Breck, Barry and Jeffrey. Once in school she went on to work for Harper Wyman for many years and retired from there as well. She was married to Don for almost 60 years prior to his passing on July 2, 2007. She lived in her own home in Mendota for decades. Baynie loved her family and friends and was admired by all who knew her.

Baynie is survived by her sister Joyce, her son Barry, her son Jeff and his wife Christi, nieces, nephews and 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Breck, two brothers Pat and Jerry and her sister Helen.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A public graveside service will be held on August 13, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.
