Ella "Babe" Schuhler, 93, of Mendota died March 16, 2018 in OSF St. Paul Medical Center, Mendota.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Ella was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Chetek, Wis., to A..D. and Josie (Tomlin) Kennedy. She married Arthur Schuhler on June 12, 1951, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sublette.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church. She was employed by A & P egg candling plant and later at the Dolly Madison Store, both in Mendota.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Schuhler of Mendota; one son, Louis (Belinda) Schuhler of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Laura, Adam, and Elizabeth; one stepgrandson, Stephen; four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband on April 23, 1980; two brothers, Robert and Addison "Bud: Kennedy; and two sisters, Margaret Prentice and Lois Johnson.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross School or the donor's choice.
