Ella D. Wood, 95, of Mendota died Sept. 4, 2009, in her home. Services were at noon today in Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota with the Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating. Burial was at Restland Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services in the funeral home. She was born July 9, 1914, in Kell to Paul and Alice Bryan. She married George A. Wood on Jan. 10, 1933. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in Mendota. She is survived by one son, Dennis (Sharon) Wood of Mendota; three daughters, Eileen (Danny) Biers of Mendota, Esther Bentley of Shorewood and Wilma (Russ) Tate of Marseilles; 14 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; 11 greatgreat- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 2000; 11 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be directed to Assembly of God Church.
