Elsie A. Truckenbrod, 67, of Mendota died March 30, 2012, in her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church, Mendota with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be private. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Ottawa to Wayne and Mildred (English) Hall. She married Jerald Truckenbrod on Jan. 29, 1966, in Ottawa. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille and First United Methodist Church, Mendota. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Mendota Food Pantry. She was a leader with Reading Is Fundamental and Girl Scouts. She is survived by her husband; two sons, George Truckenbrod of Bolivia and Greg (Wendy) Truckenbrod of Florida; two daughters, Rhonda (Tim) Schultz of DeKalb and Renee Truckenbrod of La Salle; eight grandchildren, Damien, Mason, Jared, Ethan, Emma, Aaron, Matthew and Mannix; her mother, Mildred Hall of Mendota; and one brother, Wayne (Marlene) Hall of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church.
