Obituary

Emmett G. Fultz, 86, of Earlville died Dec. 26, 2012, in
Mendota Lutheran Home.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at
Precinct Cemetery, Earlville. Military rites will be
performed by VFW Post 4079, and the Rev. Michael Morrell
will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota,
assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Fultz was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Hodgenville, Ky., to
Albert and Redlee (Gardner) Fultz. He married Hazel Shahen
in April 1943.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was
employed by Wurlitzer in DeKalb for several years. He also
owned and operated a poultry farm and later was employed as
a carpenter before his retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Rick (Nancy) Fultz and
Rodney Fultz, both of Mendota; eight grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glenn (Ann) Fultz of
Earlville.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 13, 2009; an
infant son, Emmett Jr.; six brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior
Services or Mendota Lutheran Home.
