Erna H. Kromm, 87, of Mendota died Sept. 19, 2016, in OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton with the Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling the arrangements.

Erna was born May 6, 1929, in Compton to William and Margaret (Reif) Bauer. She married Edward Kromm on Feb. 14, 1953.

She was a graduate of Paw Paw High School. She farmed with her husband until their retirement in 1988 at which time they moved to Mendota. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton.

She is survived by one sister, Verna (Bill) Davison of DeKalb; one brother, Roger (Jean) Bauer of Kirkland; one sister-in-law, Gerry Neal of Mendota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 13, 2006.
