Ernest J. Radtke, 95, of Mendota died March 27, 2011, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mr. Radtke was born March 13, 1916, in La Salle to John and Anna (Kopp) Radtke. He married Catherine Haub on Feb. 12, 1945, in the parsonage of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clarion Township. He was a lifelong farmer in the Mendota area. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a longtime member of Mendota Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Catherine of Mendota; one daughter, Carole (Steve) Dancey of Mendota; three sons, Richard (Carol) Radtke of Bloomington, Minn., Randall (Char) of Mendota and Rodney (Sara) Radtke of Durham, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Erna Eich of Peru; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Hilda Lau, Elsie Nickel, Frieda Shaddick, Bertha Larabee; and five brothers, Art Radtke, Barney Radtke, Edmund Radtke, Albert Radtke and Wally Radtke.
