Esther Betz, 98, of Mendota died Dec. 24, 2013, in Mendota
Community Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating.
Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services
Saturday in the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Paw Paw to Harry and
Pearl (Moore) Prentice. She married Richard Betz on Sept. 16,
1939, in Wheaton.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was
involved in various church activities. She loved to crochet.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth and John (Cathy)
Betz, both of Mendota; two grandchildren, Melissa Williams
and Kevin Betz; and four great-grandchildren, Colton, Shaelyn
and Alliah Williams and Elsie Betz.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 18,
1986; one infant grandson, Jeffery Alan Betz; two sisters and
one brother.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church
or Mendota Lutheran Home.
