Esther R. Fetzer, 97, of La Salle County Nursing Home, Ottawa, died April 27, 2011, in the home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Bache Chapel, Van Orin, with the Rev. Gene Vincent officiating. Burial will be at Van Orin Repose Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services Saturday at the chapel. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, provided the arrangements. She was born Nov. 18, 1913, in Plaza, N.D., to Edward and Amelia (Onsgard) Opsahl. She married Lester Fetzer on April 8, 1931, in Dixon. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Ohio, Ill. She is survived by two sons, Merle (Corrine) Fetzer of Arlington and Delbert (Sylvia) Fetzer of LaMoille;nine grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; seven greatgreat- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; one daughter, Beverly Meyer in 1966; and four brothers, Carl, Albert, Sam and Alvin. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
