Obituary
Esther Lydia Fischer, 97, of Mendota died July 5, 2016, in Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Lutheran Church, Ohio, with the Rev. Vicki Sauter officiating. Burial will be at Van Orin Repose Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Esther was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Meriden Township to Henry and Lillie (Hermann) Kerchner. She married Fred L. Fischer on April 28, 1937, in Ohio, Ill.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Ohio.
Esther is survived by three daughters, Jeanette (Ronald) Brandau of Dixon, Bernice Hucko of Palos Heights and Beverly (Richard) Hall of Ames, Iowa; two sons, Charles (Virginia) Fischer and David (Karen) Fischer, both of LaMoille; 15 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Robinson of Mendota.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 15, 1990; six sisters, three brothers, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law.
Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church of Ohio or to Bache Chapel in Van Orin.
