Esther Frances Pohl, 75, of Mendota, passed away December 2nd at Senior Star at Weber Place in Romeoville, Il. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30a.m., Saturday, in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10a.m., Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Esther was born July 5, 1939 in Mendota to John and Gertrude (Becker) Funfsinn. She married the love of her life Arthur (Art) E. Pohl in 1958.
She was a homemaker and mother. She worked at Classon's Super Foods and later Mendota Area Senior Services. Friends and family were important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a graduate of Mendota High School. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Lori (Mark) Thompson of Greenwood, IN., Lisa (Alan) Teauseau of Youngstown, NY., and Julie (Tom) DeRobertis of Shorewood, Il.; Her six grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew and Zachary Thompson, Marissa Teauseau and Grayson and Aubrey DeRobertis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Melvin and Delbert Funfsinn and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services or The Alzheimers Association. Memorial Mass in Esther's name at Holy Cross Church or St's Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Peterstown.
