Eudora V. Bentley, 96, of Mendota died Jan. 14, 2011, in Mendota Community Hospital. Private family service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Zapf officiating. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille. There will be no visitation. She was born July 12, 1914, in Mendota to Fred and Ida May (Pittman) Elwood. She married Lloyd Bentley on Jan. 1, 1934, in LaMoille. She was very active in her church and taught Sunday school. She attended Faith Assembly of God Church, which was the last church she was able to attend. She is survived by two sons, Garold (Judy) Bentley of Peru and John (Joyce) Bentley of Mendota; three daughters, Lorna (Dieter) Zapf of El Paso, Texas, Karen (Larry) Cramer of Chana and Carla (Paul) Schmitz of Mendota; 14 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973, one daughter and one granddaughter. Memorials may be directed to World Vision.
