Eugene "Gene" DesRocher, 97, of LaMoille, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Allure of Mendota. He was born December 16, 1928, in Prairie du Chien, WI, the son of Alex and Alice (LaBonne) DesRocher. He married Patricia Howarth on July 28, 1956, in Mendota.

Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a mail carrier for the USPS for thirty-two years. Gene loved anything history related, especially World War II. He loved college basketball and professional baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs.

Gene is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Vickie Jo Mueller; son, Mark (Vickie) DesRocher; two grandchildren, Christina "Dena" Mueller and Shaun DesRocher; and two great grandsons, Nazareth and Lucas DesRocher.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by five sisters, four brothers, and a son-in-law, Bill Mueller.

The funeral service will be at 12 Noon on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Community United Methodist Church, 73 N. Main Street, in LaMoille. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Mendota.
