Evelyn A. Anderson, 79, of Mendota died April 23, 2013,
in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
A memorial gathering will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday, May 4 in
Mendota VFW Post 4079.
Burial of ashes will be at a later date at Restland Cemetery,
Mendota. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided arrangements.
She was born May 29, 1933, in Spring Valley to Henry
and Hedwig (Pletsch) Dippel. She married Vernon "Andy"
Anderson on Jan. 16, 1960. She was a graduate of Putnam
High School.
She and her husband owned and operated Andy's Tap in
Mendota and she also owned and operated The Mitre Box in
Mendota before her retirement.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda (J. Chris) Ladson
of Mendota; five stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 19,
2007; one sister and three brothers.
