Florence Marie Ayers, 86, of Sublette passed away on May 21, 2018 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center, Mendota.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Michelle Crow officiating.

Florence was born November 26, 1931 in Malden to Archie and Myrtle (Anderburg) Clark. She married Donald Ayers in September of 1950.

Florence grew up on a farm south of Sublette  and attended Amboy High School where she graduated in 1949. She and her husband farmed just a few miles from where she grew up. She worked at Hart Carter, Massey Fergussen and Holland & Sons, all in Mendota. In 1990 she and her husband retired to Sublette. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Dennis) Politsch of Mendota and Janet (Jim)  Nagel of Sublette; 4 grandchildren, Chris (Andrea) Politsch of Dimmick, Andy (Melissa) Politsch of Byron, Christian Nagel of DeKalb and Caitlin Nagel of Downers Grove and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband on January 9, 2009, two brothers and two sisters.
