Florence E. Dewey, 95, a resident of the Mendota Lutheran Home died May 4, 2007 at the care facility. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 7 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Mendota with Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Dewey Cemetery in Ophir Township. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services on May 7 at the church. Arrangements were handled by the Merritt Funeral Home. Mrs. Dewey was born Aug. 29, 1911 in Walnut to Enoch and Ruth (Olson) Fransen. She married Louis Dewey on Jan. 17, 1931 in Mendota. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1980. Survivors include two sons, Lynn and Steve Dewey, both of Mendota; one daughter, Lorainne (Dan) Van Etten of Poynette, Wis.; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Lauren Dewey in 1964; and one brother, Logan. Mrs. Dewey was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church.
