Florence Reeder, 87, of Mendota died Aug. 27, 2009, in Mendota Lutheran Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 4 p.m. in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Feb. 12, 1922, in La Salle to William and Helen (Cebona) Kelly. She married John "Jack" Reeder in September 1942. She was a graduate of La Salle-Peru High School and was employed by Fasco in Mendota for more than 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Holy Cross Church in Mendota and Elks Lodge 1212. She is survived by two daughters, Judy (William) Schmidt and Jackie Reeder, both of Mendota; two sons, Jim (Jeanette) Reeder of Princeton and John Reeder of Mendota; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1977. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
