Florence Setchell, 96, of Ottawa died Dec. 23, 2007, in Pleasant View Lutheran Home, Ottawa. A private family service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Roy Backus officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Setchell was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Waltham Township to John A. and Lucinda (Dobbins) Wilson. She married Webster M. Setchell on Feb. 19, 1933. She was a member of Waltham Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Waltham Curling Club and past president of the U.S. Women?s Curling Association. She also was a member of Eastern Star and Home Extension. She is survived by two sons, Gary (Lisa) Setchell of Ottawa and Neal (Patricia) Setchell of LaGrange; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1977; one grandson; one sister and four brothers. Memorials may be directed to Waltham Presbyterian Church or Waltham Curling Club.
