Fortunato Orozco, 78, of Mendota IL, passed away in his home, Saturday, October 4, 2025.  He was born October 21, 1946 in Totatiche, Jalisco, Mexico the son of Manuel and Maria (Munoz) Orozco. Fortunato was known for his strong work ethic, big heart, and unwavering love for his family. A proud resident of Mendota, IL for over 40 years.

On November 14, 1982, Fortunato married Bertha Alicia Felix-Flores. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and countless memories. Fortunato took great pride in providing for his family and always went above and beyond to help those around him.

Fortunato enjoyed taking rides- a simple joy that gave him peace and time to reflect. Those who knew him will remember how much he loved being out on the road, appreciating life's quiet moments along the way.

Fortunato was survived by his wife: Bertha of Mendota; six Children: Jesus, Sergio, Jaime, Everardo, Alicia and Selena Orozco; 12 grandchildren; one brother; and one sister. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Public Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota, IL.  Funeral Mass will be Friday, October, 10, 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mendota with Father Greg Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass.  Visit www.horner-merritt.com for online guestbook
