Frances M Newell, 87, of Mendota, passed away February 12, 2022 at Heritage Health, Mendota.
She was known to many that loved her as "Mama Louie", "Lu", "Granny NuNu" or just "Ma Newell".
Frances was born August 9, 1934 in West Brooklyn to Wilbur and Vera (Bauer) Delhotal. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1952. She married Donald Newell and he preceded her in death in 1996.
After raising her nine children, she worked at RR Donnelly in Mendota until her retirement in 2000. She then got to enjoy doing her favorite thing: shopping! She also enjoyed going to flea markets and craft shows. Frances was a member of Holy Cross Church.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son David.
She is survived by children Debra (Ron) Rose, Connie Tuftee, Beverly (Lance) Derbonne, Mark (Bobbi) Newell, daughter-in-law Kim Newell, Kevin (Jennifer) Newell, Steve (Mona) Newell, Sherri (Brian) Stouffer, and Lisa Newell (Humberto Castellanos). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Father Jeff Windy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
