Frank G. Holbrook, 86, of Mendota, born July 25, 1938 in Amboy, Illinois to Norris and Elsie Holbrook, passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2024. No visitation will be performed. Private family services will be done at a later date on the Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation in Sells, Arizona where he will be laid for eternal rest with his beloved wife. Frank was a member of the US Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas where he met and fell in love with his future wife, Matilda who preceded him in death on April 15, 2023. Another highlight of his Army career was when he met Elvis Presley on base in Texas.
Frank was a member of Holy Cross Church. He worked at Hume Brothers/Hart Carter/HCC until his retirement.
He is survived by his children Sarah Schlie of Waupaca, Wi, Sharon Holbrook of FriendShip, W, Michael (JoAnna) Holbrook of Tucson, AZ, Sheila (Jeff) Bettner of Mendota, IL, Sylvia (Roberto) Saldana of Montgomery, IL and Sherri (Tony) Jungman of Peculiar, MO, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 8 siblings, 2 great grandchildren and one son in law. Today is Indigenous Peoples Day and Dad has gone home to be with his favorite Indigenous Person, our Mom.
