Obituary
Gary D. Bankes, 82, of Ladd, passed away August 26, 2021 in his home.
Private graveside services will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Troy Grove Cemetery with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
Gary was born June 12, 1939 in Prairie Center to Gordon and Queenie (Dock) Bankes.
Gary was a 1957 graduate of Mendota High School. He served in the National Guard. He worked for Caterpillar in Aurora for over 35 years as a machine operator. He loved cooked and golfing.
He is survived by his son Brian (Brenda) Bankes of Ladd; granddaughter Ashley of Ladd and great granddaughter Izabella of Ladd.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marlene.
