Gerald W. George, 76, of
Caledonia died Aug. 28,
2015, in Beloit Memorial
Hospital, Beloit, Wis.
Funeral services will be at
11:30 a.m. Friday in Merritt
Funeral Home, Mendota
with the Rev. Michael Morrell
officiating. Burial will be
at Restland Cemetery, Mendota
with military rites by
VFW Post 4079.
He was born April 24,
1939, in Litchfield to Millard
and Victoria (Conterio)
George. He married Ingeborg
Schmidt on May 30,
1960, in Nurnberg, Germany
while serving with the
U.S. Army.
He was a 1957 graduate
of Mendota High School
and served in the U.S. Army
from November 1958 to
Feb. 19, 1962.
He grew up in Mendota
and loved watching football
and working on cars in his
spare time.
He is survived by his wife,
Ingeborg of Caledonia; one
daughter, Janine (Grady)
Brockley of Janesville, Wis.;
one son, Robert George of
Roscoe; three grandchildren,
Cindy George,
Stephanie Arthur and Kyle
George.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; one brother,
John; and one sister, Carol.
