Hank Kelly, 65, of Mendota died Dec. 9, 2008, in Mendota Community Hospital shortly after arrival. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home. Mr. Kelly was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Mendota to Thomas and Lucy (Guilfoyle) Kelly. He married Jean Mathesius on Nov. 23, 1999, in Mendota. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Mendota Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus. He was employed by Farm Supply and for 30 years at Caterpillar before his retirement. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Nick Kelly of Milwaukee, Wis., and Jerry Kelly of Chicago; three stepsons, Brian (Jackie) Near of Mendota, Brady Near of Mendota and Bradley (Monica) Near of Mendota; one granddaughter; two stepgranddaughters; one sister, Mary Lou Saylor of Mendota; five brothers, Thomas (Rita) Kelly of Palos Heights, Leo (Ann) Kelly of Earlville, Dick (Judy) Kelly of Mendota, Patrick (Marge) Kelly of Utica and William (Mary Ann) Kelly of Anchorage, Alaska; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
