Gordon "Horse" Inman, 78, of Spring Valley and formerly of Mendota died unexpectedly in his home on Aug. 4, 2016.
Private family graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Troy Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota handled arrangements.
Gordon was born July 30, 1938, in Mendota to Denver and Grace (Miller) Inman. He married Kay Johnson on Dec. 26, 1959, in Mendota.
Gordon was a 1956 graduate of Mendota High School and was a starting three-year varsity standout lineman for the Mendota Trojans. He was a lifelong farmer and worked for Agricultural Building Co. for more than 25 years. He was a member of Mendota Elks Lodge and Mendota Quarterback Club. He loved to golf and ride his motorcycle.
He is survived by two sons, Mark (Deborah) Inman of Mendota and Doug (Paula) Inman of Mendota; two daughters, Vicki (Dale) Mann of Mendota and Jill (Leo) Reasor of Troy Grove; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and special friend Gail LeRette of Spring Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2006, and a brother, Norman.
