Gordon Miller, 68, of Mendota died March 3, 2009, in his home. Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. The Rev. Michael Morrell will officiate. Burial will be at Wisner Cemetery, Ophir Township. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mr. Miller was born July 12, 1940, in Mendota to Leslie and June (Vandre) Miller. He married Betty Despain on Sept. 18, 1965, in Mendota. He graduated in 1957 from Mendota High School and was a self-employed general contractor. He was a member of Triumph Methodist Church, Ophir Township Board and Wisner Cemetery Association. He was a longtime member of Mendota Moose Lodge and served on the Ophir School Board. He was active in various bowling leagues. Survivors are his wife; one son, Eric (Val) Miller of Waltham Township; one daughter, Melissa (Steve) Hill of Mendota; two grandchildren; and his mother of Mendota. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Booster Club, Wisner Cemetery Association or the donor's choice.
