Hazel Mae Bauer, 82, of St. Peters, Mo., formerly of Mendota, died April 3, 2008 in St. Peters. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille. The Rev. Tom Babler will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mrs. Bauer was born March 12, 1926, in Lee County to John and Rozella (Pope) Erbes. She married Ivan Bauer on Feb. 15, 1947, in LaMoille. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church of LaMoille. Survivors include her husband of St. Peters, Mo.; one son, John (Julie) Charles of St. Charles, Mo.; three grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Clinite of Rockford; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Bauer. Memorials may be directed to the church or LaMoille- Clarion Library.
