Helen M. Jones, 86, of Mendota died July 15, 2008, in Stonecroft Village Retirement Community, Mendota. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Maloy officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Aug. 28, 1921, in Sublette to John and Frances (Burkart) Gallisath. She married Richard Jones on Nov. 6, 1940, in West Brooklyn. She was a member of Holy Cross Church. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann LaForge of Wildwood, Mo.; two sons, Dennis (Deb) Jones of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Richard (Darlene) Jones of Naramata, British Columbia, Canada; six grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alberta (Peter) Dinges of Sublette. She was preceded in death by her husband in May 2005; one brother and an infant great-grandson. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross School.
