Helen M. Pantenberg of Mendota died July 20, 2011, in her residence. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Gary Blake officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. The daughter of Grover and Bertha (Gallagher) Huffaker, she married Wallace Pantenberg on Dec. 15, 1961, in Princeton. She and her husband owned and operated Mendota Diesel and Truck Service for 40 years and later Mendota Outdoor Power before retirement. She was a member of Holy Cross Church. She is survived by her husband, Wallace of Mendota; one daughter, Rebecca Schwigen of Mendota; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Church, Illinois Valley Animal Rescue or Vitas Hospice.
