Helen N. Yost, 83, of Mendota died March 20, 2010, in her residence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. The Rev. Harold Koonce will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. She was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Dwight to Arnold and Vera (Sanderguard) Landon. She married Ralph Yost on July 17, 1943, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Mrs. Yost worked for Hart- Carter in Mendota before her retirement. Survivors are three sons, Terry (Donna) Yost of La Salle, Duane (Sue) Yost of Edmund, Okla., and Tom Yost of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three daughters, Diana (Steve) Hill of Grand Rapids, Minn., Mary Fischer of Indianapolis, Ind., and Pamela (Jose) Herrera of Mendota; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores (Don) Lenz of Freeport; and one brother, James (Elizabeth) Landon of Ocala, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; one daughter in infancy; and one brother and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the family or Illinois Valley Hospice.
