Howard W. Faber, 83, of Chicago, formerly of Clarion Township, died Dec. 4, 2009 in Chicago. Graveside services were held Tuesday, December 29th at 11:30 a.m. at Restland Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Arrangements were handled by the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mr. Faber was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Clarion Township to Clarence and Lydia (Bittner) Faber. Survivors include one sister, Darlene Fischer of LaMoille, three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one niece. Mr. Faber was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He farmed in the LaMoille and Maytown areas until moving to Chicago in the 1960s.
