Irene L. Watson, 100, of Mendota died Jan. 4, 2016, in Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Susan Presley officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Dixon.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until services Saturday in the funeral home.
Irene was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Algona, Iowa to Everett and Iva (Lowman) Witham. She married Ben L. Sloter on Nov. 14, 1934, and he preceded her in death in 1961. She married Norman E. Watson on Feb. 14, 1963, and he preceded her in death in 1977.
She graduated from Algona High School in 1933 and moved to Illinois in 1942 to work at the ordnance plant in Amboy. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mendota and a church Elder and served on the board of deacons.
She was employed by Marathon Electric in Earlville for 33 years and then worked part time for Rainbow Travel, Mendota.
She was a member of the Federated Woman's Club, Public Affairs, Home Extension, Eastern Star where she was a Past Worthy Matron. She lived in Troy Grove for 45 years and then moved to Mendota in 1988.
She is survived by one son, Rockwell (Mary Ann) Sloter of Mendota; two daughters, June Adell (Clifford) Schlesinger of Paw Paw and Annabelle Myers of Alberta, Canada; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
