Obituary

C. James Waido, 80, of 4216 Meridian Road, Mendota died June 30, 2009, in his home. Cremation rites were accorded. No services are scheduled. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, provided the arrangements. Mr. Waido was born May 12, 1929, in Chicago to Clarence and Mary Ann (Johnson) Waido. He married Marjorie Langdon on May 1, 1954, in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. He served in the Korean War with both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. He ran a podiatrist practice in Rockford and was a medical equipment salesman until his retirement. He played trumpet with Stan Kenton's traveling band in 1947 and was a member of Kiwanis and Mendota Elks Lodge. He is survived by three sons, Scott (Karen) Waido of Mendota, Keith (Lisa) Waido of Lake Villa and Kent (Renee) Waido of Alabama; one daughter, Kim (Jim) Daul of Mendota; 11 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
