Janet Kay Keefer 67, of Mark, IL, lost her battle with cancer on February 4, 2024.

She was born in Spring Valley, IL in 1956 to Daniel and Barbara (Lucas) Flanagan.

Janet graduated from Mendota High School in 1974 before attending Illinois Community College.  Janet had a great love for all things nature. She was a talented explorer always searching for the truth. She enjoyed taking care all creatures, big and small. Her love for her family and friends will be carried on in all of us.

Janet was preceded in death by her niece Lyndsey DeLao, Kyle Zinser, brother of Calvin Keefer, friend Deb Williams and Sally Clausen and is survived by husband Calvin Keefer; parents Daniel and Barbara Flanagan; brothers David Flanagan, Jeff Flanagan and sisters Karen Cater and Teresa Flanagan. Children Josh ( Jennifer) Krager and Jeremiah ( Heather) Krager, grandchildren Alex Krager, Dylan Krager, Lacy Sistek, Parker Krager, Mychelynn Crawford and Daniel Krager, and great grandchild Leah Krager

Services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. David Jungnickel officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Requested attire is tie-dye clothing or rainbows.

Donations to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue would be greatly appreciated. Food will be provided after the services at the LaMoille Lions Club.
