Janet E. Kolzow, 62, of 083 43rd Road, Mendota died Jan. 11, 2008, in her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Johnson Grove Cemetery, Shabbona. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. She was born Nov. 11, 1945, in Enton, Ohio, to William and Retha (Burton) Young. She married David Kolzow on Jan. 12, 1985, in Joliet. She was a member of UAW Local 145 and a seamstress. She was a graduate of Ellsworth College, Iowa. Mrs. Kolzow is survived by her husband, David of Mendota; one son, Tim Walker of Marseilles; one daughter, Becky (Mike) Smith of Mendota; one grandson; one brother, Bill (Faye) Young of Columbia, Ky.; and one sister, Joyce (Clifford) Giles of Columbia, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Sauk Valley Humane Society.
