Janet Mae Small, 86, of Waltham Township, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at LaSalle County Nursing Home, Ottawa.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 am. at Waltham Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joel Stevenor officiating. Burial will be in Waltham Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.

Mrs. Small was born December 28, 1936 in Oglesby to Edward and Marie (Argubright) Towne. She married Norman Small on September 4, 1954.

Mrs. Small was a member of Waltham Presbyterian Church. She volunteered for several years at Illinois Valley PADS Shelter and Lily Pads Resale Store.

Mrs. Small is survived by two daughters Janet (Marc) Delaney and Peggy (Doug) Fieldman; two sons Gary (Martha) Small and Tom (Barb) Small; 9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one sister Marie Phillips and one brother James Towne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2008, one grandson, one sister and two brothers.
